December 2003 - no meeting had been planned, but it has been decided to meet to finalize a budget and get funds needed for the deposit on the hall.
November 2003 - Sarah, Vicky and Betty met at Betty's home in Chicago. Debbie was unable to attend. A photographer has been selected for the reunion. A buffet style meal was discussed in lieu of a formal dinner, to allow people to circulate and talk more during the dinner hour. A disk jocky is being selected by Sarah. A cash bar vs. liquor included was discussed. We have not yet received the start up money (loan) from the Alumni Association.
September 2003 - Sarah, Betty, Vicky and Debbie met at Sarah's home to begin the planning for the reunion. Most of us had not seen each other since the 10 year reunion, so it was a mini reunion for us all. We caught up on our lives and settled in on planning where, when and some ideas of how we'd like to see our 30 year reunion evolve. Non of us have ever worked on a reunion or other big event, so we are learning as we go.
At the first meeting of the Steinmetz High School Reunion Committee for the graduating class of 1974, It was determined that the Board of Directors for the Committee are as follows:
Sarah Wendes, Chair Person/Facility Coordinator
Betty Mitchell, Secretary
Debbie (Wattenbarger) Quintana, Treasurer
Vicky (Koutsianelos) Siglasky, Event Coordinator, Assistant Treasurer.
Sarah Wendes has contracted with the Ramada Inn in Rosemont, IL to hold our reunion. It will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2004.
August 2003 - Betty Mitchell and Vicky (Koutsianelos) Siglasky joined the reunion committee.
March 2003 - Sarah Wendes took on the responsibilities to begin organizing the 30 year reunion.
July 2002 - Debbie (Wattenbarger) Quintana creates the Yahoo! Group for Class of 1974. Because Classmates.com now charges about .00 a year to email classmates, Debbie decided to create a free website for us to connect with each other. Because she missed the 20 year reunion, she wanted to make sure that she and others would not miss the 30 year reunion. This led to the creation of web sites for SteinmetzClassmates and CantySchool too...
